Bought as gifts for my sisters. My younger sister really likes it and the Bourbon cream corn and the Beef Wellington were her favorites from the cookbook. I tasted the Bourbon cream corn and it was delicious. My other sister has not tried any recipes from it yet. She will make the Bourbon cream corn for Thanksgiving.
Texas Tables is a fabulous cookbook of "top shelf" quality. Offering everything from spicy Rodeo Chili and deep-fried Texas "1015" Onion Straws to the more elegant Gulf Coast Chardonnay Oysters, Roasted Chicken with Goat Cheese-Macadamia Nut Crust and Plat de Courgettes (which translates simply to "zucchini dish" but it sounds much better in French), the new Texas Tables cookbook is sure to please every palate! It's obvious that time and attention to detail was given to the selection of the 200+ recipes included in this book. And as a novice cook, beautiful photographs are a treat to help those of us that are visual! I recommend this book and it's predacessor, Texas Ties.

I am admittedly, not a very good cook...I bought this book because the cover lured me in with its serene table setting, and I thought it would look really pretty in my kitchen. Plus I love supporting Junior League cookbooks, since the money they make from them goes towards charities.I have to say, I am so extremely pleased with my purchase. Not only have I actually been able to cook many delicious recipes from this cookbook that have turned out really well, I've gotten complements on the cooking! All of the recipes I have attempted have been delicious!! My husband loves the Grilled Bacon Wrapped Chipotle Shrimp, the Kitchen Sink Orzo and the Chipotle Sweet Potato soup! I'm obsessed with the Mississippi Mud Brownies, Cherry Almond Scones and the Miss Priss Punch, which I've made for a few showers I've thrown.This book features over 60 color photographs, which I loved because it helped me to see what my meal should look like when it's done!Whether you're cooking a big meal for a family dinner or just looking for some delicious new sweets and drinks to try out, this book is definitely a great investment. You'll be very pleased!!
